KANSAS CITY — Westlake Ace Hardware recently partnered with The Salvation Army for a fan drive to benefit their local communities and help those in need beat the summer heat. In the span of just 18 days, Westlake’s customers donated more than $50,000 to the charity. That money was used to purchase more than 3,300 fans.

Westlake, which has locations in Edmond, kicked off the fan drive with a donation of 500 fans. Following the kickoff, each of Westlake’s store locations asked customers to donate at the register. For a $5 donation, one ‘fan blade’ could be given, $10 provided two ‘fan blades’, $15 for ‘three blades’ or $20 for the ‘entire fan.’ Westlake turned the donated funds into fans by giving the fans at cost to The Salvation Army.
