ST. JACOBS — He started his career in the hardware business in 1938 as a stock boy in St. Jacobs earning $8 a week.
Walter Hachborn, who died on Saturday at 95, went on to co-found Home Hardware Stores Ltd., which today has almost 1,100 outlets across Canada and annual sales of $5.8 billion.
