KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Just as temperatures are rising again in the first week in August, a local business is stepping up to help those who don’t have air conditioning in their home.
Westlake Ace Hardware stores received more than $13,000 to purchase 774 fans and 15 air conditioning units, which they are handing over to The Salvation Army Monday afternoon at the 1000 Westport Road store. The Salvation Army will then distribute the supply to those in need, including the elderly, families with young children and those with medical issues.
