The January recipient of Sentry/Ace Hardware’s Round-Up for a Cause program was People Against a Violent Environment, a non-profit organization that works to empower those affected by violence in Dodge County.
PAVE received a check for $1,237.80. The funds were raised entirely by the store’s customers, through the Round-Up for a Cause program. At the end of every transaction, a question appears on the pin pad and/or the cashier asks the customer if they would like to round up their total bill to the nearest whole dollar (example total = $6.51 rounding up makes it $7). The rounded-up funds are then donated to a different charity or organization each month.
