A home improvement retail chain that has been a sponsor in the IndyCar and Indy Lights series is backing the Indianapolis 500 bid of Simon Pagenaud.

Menards, the Wisconsin-based company with 297 stores in the Midwest, will be primary sponsor on Pagenaud’s entry for a pair of historic Verizon IndyCar Series races in 2016: the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race presented by PennGrade Motor Oil in May; and the Road America Grand Prix as Indy cars return to the iconic permanent road course in Elkhart Lake, also in Wisconsin, this June after an eight-year absence.
