NEW YORK — Lowe’s Home Centers LLC and the Home Depot Inc. have agreed to separate settlements over alleged violations of the state’s Nutrient Runoff Law.
That law, according to a press release from Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman, is designed to reduce water pollution caused by excess phosphorus running off lawns into New York waters.
It requires stores to display lawn fertilizers containing phosphorous separately from those that are phosphorus-free.
