Walking into the River Lake True Value Hardware store is like walking back in time.
The store’s owner knows every customer’s name. It’s a near-sure bet you’ll get what you are looking for because Jim Logan has decades-worth of inventory from which to choose.
But after 73 years, his hardware store on East Lake Street is closing its doors.
“I don’t work here,” Logan said. “I run a business here, but so much more than just a business. It’s socialization, it’s culture, it’s learning about other people.”
