Eau Claire (WQOW) — A federal complaint claims Menards Inc., based in Eau Claire, is misclassifying its delivery drivers as independent contractors and as a result, deprived them of workplace rights.
The complaint was filed by the National Labor Relations Board’s regional office in Minneapolis. According to a copy of the complaint obtained by News 18, the NLRB claims by classifying the delivery drivers as contractor, the workers are not covered by laws that provide for minimum wage, overtime pay, workers compensation, and unemployment insurance.
