HAMMOND — A Region amputee who suffers from paralysis in her left arm said several people working at a local Menard’s refused to allow her to drive a motorized cart to a waiting vehicle, repeatedly pushed her hands off its controls and laughed at her as she struggled to get into a wheelchair.

Pamela Mamouzelos, 60, of Hammond, said the paralysis was caused by a stroke about 10 years ago and she later lost part of her leg to a skin-eating disease.
