In a major shopping weekend, small businesses are preparing to shine while large corporations boom.
Major retailers in town will open at varying times over the holiday weekend. JCPenney will be the first to welcome customers at 2 p.m. Thursday. Walmart will follow once it opens its doors at 6 p.m. Thursday.
