CARBONDALE — George Sheffer came to Southern Illinois University in 1971 to start his college career, and he has been in Southern Illinois ever since.
Sheffer, the owner and president of Murdale True Value, recently received the Best Hardware Store in Town Award from the True Value Company. This award was given to 13 stores in the world.
