Mike Nimmick, an accountant and one of the owners of Union Grove True Value Lumber & Hardware, believes that the reason this neighborhood hardware store has remained relevant, even after opening in the 1870s, is because it has stayed true to its local roots.
The business, which is owned by five or six local residents, does much of its business with local contractors, and has a family-type atmosphere.
