Linda Wachter had visions of the past, present and future Wednesday when she was one of 61 attendees invited to pitch her product to an Ace Hardware panel in hopes of having the Oak Brook-based company make it available in its supply chain.

The past for Wachter, a Glen Ellyn resident who grew up in Elk Grove Village, is fond childhood memories of going with her father to the local Ace Hardware store.

The present is her product, drink tops, which have been on the market for a year and are used to put on the tops of glasses to keep the bees and bugs away when enjoying wine and other beverages outdoors.
