Redding has notified Home Depot and Lowe’s that those storage sheds, rental trucks, and pallets of mulch taking up parking spaces and blocking fire lanes at the stores violate city rules that regulate outdoor sales displays.
In separate letters to the store managers, Redding Development Services Director Larry Vaupel asks them to correct the violations within 30 days.
Or, if they want to continue the outdoor displays, the stores need to amend their use permits. But parking and screening requirements will make that difficult, Vaupel said.
