From the very first day at 84 Lumber, employees learn how their job directly impacts the company’s bottom line. Whether it’s sweeping the floors or closing a multi-million dollar contract, everyone knows the role they play in the company’s business plan. Barbes started his career at 84 Lumber as a management trainee in New Jersey in 2000, working his way up to be a manager, to an area manager in Cleveland, and then to an area manager in Northern Virginia/DC, where he led one of 84 Lumber’s most profitable regions. As VP of National Sales, Barbes is responsible for scaling his success in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. regions and bringing consistency to the company’s sales process across the country.
