WINCHESTER — Late Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service revised its snowfall prediction for the Winchester area, saying 5 to 12 inches is the likely accumulation, though 15 inches of snow is possible before the storm ends in the Northern Shenandoah Valley late today.

The snow totals are lower than the 8 to 14 inches predicted Sunday.

Lows are expected to be 17 and 18 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Highs will be in the 20s and 30s until Friday, when 42 degrees is expected.
