Along with milk, eggs and brake fluid, the Maple Corner Community Store in Maple Corner, Vt.—population 200 or so—has a small post office where locals pick up their mail. Behind a door just past the P.O. boxes sits the Whammy Bar, a backroom pub itself about the shape and size of a postage stamp.
