Greenville police broke up a theft ring targeting home improvement stores in the Upstate.

About $76,000 worth of merchandise was stolen in shoplifting thefts — suspects took about $71,000 worth of merchandise from Home Depot and $5,000 worth of merchandise from Lowe’s Home Improvement stores. Police recovered about $65,000 worth of the stolen merchandise, according to a press release from the Greenville Police Department.
